Screen Issues
« on: June 28, 2014, 05:22:06 am »
I'm running Peppermint 5 on my HP Pavilion G7 and I'm having issues with my display.  >:( It flickers a lot. Is it because I have the screen too bright or do I need to change the refresh rate?

My first thought would be the refresh rate. Go to Menu -> Preferences -> Monitor Settings and see if there are any options with the same resolution but a different refresh rate.

What's the output from:
Code: [Select]
sudo lshw -C display
?

Is this a desktop or laptop ? .. if a desktop, I take it you've checked the cabling (obvious I know, but doesn't hurt to ask).

If you go to:-

menu > Preferences > Additional Drivers

is anything listed there ? .. if so, what ?
