Here we are from https://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php/topic,5621.msg56748.html#msg56748

Hmm....

NOT advisable to install packages from the PM8 repos on PM7 .. I moved a LOT of stuff about which may break things.

numix-folders will (AFAIK) only work with the version of numix on PM8, but we can work around that.

and currently the only way to add the peppermix-dark-grey themes (icons and gtk) is via the PM8 peppermint-artwork package that would break likely break PM7 .. again we can work around this.

So are you after the peppermix grey gtk theme or icon theme .. or both ?

Actually, can you start a new topic about this, so others can benefit :)

Just the peppermix grey gtk theme is what I would like ( + numix-folders  :)  TVM)

Okay then....

Make sure you're NOT using a Numix icon theme (if you are, switch to another first).

then run these commands in sequence:
Code: [Select]
cd /usr/share/icons
then
Code: [Select]
sudo rm -rv Numix
then
Code: [Select]
sudo rm -rv Numix-Circle
then
Code: [Select]
sudo wget https://peppermintos.info/7to8/pm8-numix-icons.zip
then
Code: [Select]
sudo unzip pm8-numix-icons.zip
then
Code: [Select]
sudo rm -v pm8-numix-icons.zip
then
Code: [Select]
sudo update-icon-caches /usr/share/icons/Numix /usr/share/icons/Numix-Circle /usr/share/icons/Numix-Circle-Light /usr/share/icons/Numix-Light /usr/share/icons/Numix-Square /usr/share/icons/Numix-Square-Light
then
Code: [Select]
cd /usr/share/themes
then
Code: [Select]
sudo wget https://peppermintos.info/7to8/Peppermix-Dark-7-Grey.zip
then
Code: [Select]
sudo unzip Peppermix-Dark-7-Grey.zip
then
Code: [Select]
sudo rm -v Peppermix-Dark-7-Grey.zip
then download this file:
https://launchpad.net/~peppermintos/+archive/ubuntu/p8-release/+files/numix-folders_1.1.1+201704051617~198~ubuntu16.04.1+peppermint_all.deb
and double-click it to install it.

Now switch back to a numix icon theme and you'll find the Numix Folders app in the main menu:-

menu > Preferences > Numix Folders

and the Peppermix-Dark-7-Grey theme in the usual place (Customise Look and Feel).

Cheers Mark absolute breeze - looks just right for me - not too garish with those LOUD orange folders from before & the grey theme is nice & subtle for me  :D
I'll mark it as Solved mate TVM  ;)
