Split Screen (Solved)

Hi Guys and Gals , with so many improvements with P8 as i have been on it all day and it is just some little things i notice and think how nice , but i still get the split screen and no way way is that P8 fault and will one day will it be a thing of the past , split screen that is  :D

Please remind us what you mean by "Split Screen"  ?

Do you mean screen tearing during video playback ?


If so, have you tried disabling "Desktop Effects" in the Peppermint Control Center ?

Well that was a easy quick fix , it was the desktop effects disabled that solved it . ;D

Yeah it's a known bug in the xfwm4 compositor and some graphics setups

There are other fixes that accomplish the same thing without having to disable desktop effects if you'd like to try ?

Sometimes simply setting "Synchronize drawing to the vertical blank" in the desktop effects works .. other times it's a little more invloved

If you'd like to try solve it without loosing desktop effects, please see if the above tweak works and if not please post the output from:
