So this is what I have found so far:
If I boot into liveUSB it will shutdown fine if go direct to the logoff menu & shutdown
or or shutdown directly from the terminal
but if I carry out any other action (open apps i.e. Nemo or edit menu etc.) then the shutdown problem occurs.
The shutdown problem
always occurs if I boot into my Pepp 8 install regardless of whether I go direct to the logoff menu & shutdown
or or shutdown directly from the terminal - it also occurs if I shutdown from the login screen directly from boot.
I have booted into safemode from the grub screen, done a fsck, then normal boot out of there & then I could shutdown ok from the login screen.
Despite me verifying my iso (torrent) download I decided to do a fresh (direct) download of the Pepp 8 iso, verify it & write it to the USB stick - however the problem still occurs. What Im going to do now is write the Pepp 7 iso to the USB stick & see if it occurs then (which didn't happen before)
