Putting icons in the Panel [SOLVED]
« on: May 18, 2017, 02:42:45 pm »
I have been trying to put "Thunderbird" into the Panel on the bottom of the screen at the Left hand  side where all the other icons are. Peppermint 7.
I've right clicked on Thunderbird and selected "Add to Panel".
It appears on the right hand side but I want it on the left like the other ones.

How can I do this.

Place the icon on the panel as before.  Then right click on on the icon and select move.  A flashing red line will appear and you move the line where you want it to go with the mouse.  Then left click that spot for the icon to be placed there.

Hi catchpole,

When it is on the right hand side. Right mouse click and select move.  A line will appear - drag it to the left and then left mouse click to drop it where you want it.

Regards Zeb...

Open panel properties with a right mouse click. Go to items and drag-and-drop to organize them as you wish

Cool .. I never realised you could 'drag to rearrange' in there, I'd always used the up/down buttons :-[, cheers pmppinho :)

I've found it to be a feature of the whisker's menu. Been using Porteus (slackware) Xfce as a portable USB for sometime now. But..., don't worry my own PC has only Peppermint on it and I'm not planning to change that ☺!

Thanks guys,

I'd been waiting for a reply notification but had not switched it on!!

I'm still feeling my way around the Forum as well as Peppermint7.
Mint 17.3 and 18 are on my main computers and I use Peppermint7 for an older laptop.
I'm very pleased with the performance and the Forum is as friendly and helpful as the one for Mint.
Keep up the good work and thanks again for all the replies.
