Boot up
« on: April 22, 2017, 02:19:49 pm »
Hello. I put peppermint on a dual boot with windows 10. I liked it so much i delete 10. I used grub customizer and deleted all options except for peppermint. Now when i boot up now it gives me the option of selecting peppermint to boot up to instead of going straight into log in screen, My question is if i delete the peppermint option will it go straight into log in or will it screw it up?

Thx

Fraley

Hi fraley,

Welcome to the forums.  Do not delete peppermint.  The Grub boot loader needs to be told about the Operating systems on the PC / Laptop

If you are new to Linux, leave it as it is for now and later on when you become more familiar you can reduce the timeout on the loader screen to say 2 or even 1 sec. That way you won't even notice it.

In short, you'll screw it up.

What's the output from:
Code: [Select]
efibootmgr -v
and
Code: [Select]
sudo ls /boot/efi/EFI
