Getting Ubuntu's Human window border to work
« on: March 16, 2017, 09:37:30 pm »
I  love Pepppermint, but it doesn't want to accept one of my favorite widow borders, Ubuntu's Human. Any way to fix this?
TIA!

Welcome to the forum, DG19075
Are you talking about THIS ? or the theme?

If it's the theme you're after, open your terminal and run
Code: [Select]
sudo apt install human-theme human-icon-theme
Once installed, navigate menu > Preferneces > Peppermint Settings Panel and open Customize Look and Feel.  Find the Human theme you want to use, click on it and then click on Apply.  Close and exit.  You should be good to go.

cheers
mac

Hi Mac,
I have the original Ubuntu Human theme and the newer Human Quarny theme along with the icons. No problem there. But when I go into the Control Center and try to apply the Human or Human Quarny window manager, I keep getting the xfwm-fallback  manager instead. Not sure what to do next.....

The Ubuntu "human-theme" does not contain an "xfwm4" component (necessary for window decorations with our window manager) , so it cannot be used for windows decorations .. you'll want to find something similar on xfce-look.org.

Go here:
https://www.xfce-look.org/p/1015950/

and if that one's not good enough, enter human xfwm into the search box at the top and hit enter .. then look through the options returned.

@DG19075
THIS may be of interest to you, as well.  Scroll down to Installing GTK Themes.
