ladyalison@ladyalison-Satellite-L55Dt-B ~ $ sudo modprobe wl

modprobe: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod-module.c:977 command_do() Error running install command for wl
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'wl': Operation not permitted

Okay that is being caused by "Secureboot" being enabled in your UEFI BIOS .. do you know how to enter your BIOS and disable "Secureboot" ?

[EDIT]

On most Toshiba's...

1. Power on the system and while the "TOSHIBA" logo appears, press [F2] key to enter the BIOS Setup Menu.
2. Select [Security] tab and set the “Secure Boot” to “Disabled”. (Refer to <Pic.1>)
3. Press [F10] key to save and exit.

By the way, only "code" (such as terminal output) goes between code tags .. not your comments ;)

Reason = normal text wraps on this forum when it reaches the page width, so the correct formatting of "code" output would be lost if it's not between code tags :)

Okay. the driver is loaded

Click on the networkmanager icon by the clock .. is your wireless network listed ?

if so, click its name to connect, and you should be prompted for your wireless authenticalion key .. enter the key and hit enter.

If at any time you are asked for a KEYRING password (not the wireless authentication key), LEAVE IT BLANK and continue.

Hmm .. is yours hidden ?

I mean have you set the SSID as hidden (not broadcast) in the router ?

[EDIT]

Has your router got a WPS button ? .. if you press that button, does it then become visible in the wireless network list ?
