Okay, one more....
Open your browser and go to localhost:631
Click on Printers
find your printer and click on it (blue - left side)
find the Maintenance
button and click on the down arrow and choose "Print Test Page
If it doesn't print go to Administration
click on the Add Printer
Enter your name / password in the resulting authentication window and click Login
When the Add Printer page opens tic beside your printer's name and then Continue
On the resulting page enter a location ex: home then Continue
Select Make and Model on the next page and click the Add Printer
The Set Printer Options page will open....ignore it and open Printers
Again, select your printer in blue (left), choose Maintenance
and Print Test Page
THIS IS IMPORTANT

I have just one more thing to try...
Open your terminal and run...
sudo apt install cups-backend-bjnp
Then try installing again. ANOTHER EDIT
: Try PCNetSpec's approach (below) first....less complicated and more likely to actually work. Still, though, keep them fingers crossed
