No operating system error [SOLVED]
« on: February 03, 2017, 05:19:19 am »
Hi,

I have just recently downloaded pepermintOS 7 32 bit version and ran uNetbootin as indicated by the instructions.

When I went to boot the live USB through BIOS on my home computer, the USB was detected however when I selected the USB I got an error message “No operating System Found’ and then loaded into windows.

Could anyone explain what I am doing wrong and how I can resolve this issue?

Thanks,
Andy

If you're using Windows to create the LiveUSB, try using Rufus instead of Unetbootin .. see here:
https://forum.peppermintos.com/index.php/topic,4350.0.html

Or maybe Win32DiskImager:

If you're using Linux to create the LiveUSB, please mention which distro/version/architecture .. eg. Mint 18 64bit

In Ubuntu 16.04 MATE, download this .deb
https://launchpad.net/~peppermintos/+archive/ubuntu/p7-release/+files/mintstick_1.2.8+peppermint_all.deb

Double-click it to install

Then use "USB Stick Formatter" to format the USB stick

Then Use "USB Image Writer" to write the Peppermint 7 ISO image to the USB stick
