apt-mirror What am I doing wrong?
« on: January 02, 2017, 02:16:47 pm »
Hey guys. Does anyone here have any experience with apt-mirror. I've been trying to use it to set up a local repository using apt-mirror but for some reason I can't get it to work. I have of course backed up my sources.list and sources.list.d

Here are the config files

sources.list
Code: [Select]
deb file:/mnt/c980c639-428d-44fa-b480-9f0c0651709d/home/pepermint-mirror/mirror/au.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial main restricted universe multiverse

Hi Mintmag,

Sorry, but I too have no experience with it. I followed your other thread about it but still could not understand why anyone would want to do it ... but to each his own.

Which instructions did you follow, and are you syncing the mirror ?

This is the kind of thing I'm after
http://www.tecmint.com/setup-local-repositories-in-ubuntu/

though you're obviously not serving the mirror via ftp if you're using "file:/" as the sources prefix

and shouldn't that be

deb file://mnt/c980c639.......

?

Those look like instructions for setting up a local domain. I'm prefer to use a local directory on another partition.

Run the server locally then. Why would you need an IP address without a server?

I'm not sure, I don't know how to make apt-mirror work from a local folder or directory. I followed the instructions.
