Veracrypt (Solved)
« on: December 18, 2016, 06:12:16 pm »
Hey guys, i'm having a bit of a problem getting veracrypt gui to run.  I'm not familiar with this program, I figured I would give it a try.  The problem i'm having is when I install veracrypt I get the icon and it shows as installed; however, when I click to open it, it never opens.  Is there a manual installation method for this, that might serve as a work around?  Thanks for the help.

Hi dknydisdkny, could we have some more information about your system?  In a terminal window, please run the following command and post back the output:
Code: [Select]
inxi -FzAlso please post the link where you downloaded Veracrypt from ;).  This program isn't in the official repos, so it's not supported.  There may be someone here that can help you.  There are no promises though  ;).
Backup! Backup! Backup! If you're missing any of these -  you ain't Backed Up!
For my system info please L/click HERE.

I knew truecrypt was no longer supported, but I was under the impression that veracrypt was still good.  Could you possibly steer ,me towards another decent encryption tool for Peppermint?
