Tutanota --an open source email service
« on: December 12, 2016, 09:17:14 am »
In case some people in Peppermint haven't heard of this, there is an open source email service coming out of Germany called Tutanota.  Its basic service is free, and it supports a couple dozen languages.  Tutanota has a clean and easy to use interface.  Through Tutanota I learned that walmart.com does not support standard email security protocol.  The downside to this is that Tutanota would not allow me to use Tutanota as a supported email address for walmart.com.  This means that you may not be able to use Tutanota for all of your email needs.  Security and privacy is what Tutanota is all about.  If Tutanota thinks a site is not using proper security standards regarding email, it will refuse to work with that site.

Here's the link for anyone interested in a free, open source, encrypted email service.  (Full encryption can be disabled if necessary.)  Tutanota also has a few domain names --including tutamail.com.
