Using Win32DiskImager to create a Peppermint 7 LiveUSB stick in WindowsThis is by far the easiest method for creating a Peppermint 7 LiveUSB stick in Windows, the downside is (in Windows) you need to use a third party utility if you want to format it back to a normal mass storage USB stick .. how to do this is at the end of this tutorial.
Okay, to create the Peppermint 7 LiveUSB stick...
Download the Peppermint ISO image from our main website:
https://peppermintos.comand save it somewhere you'll be able to find it.
Download and install
Win32DiskImager-0.9.5-install.exe from my dropbox:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31525164/Win32DiskImager-0.9.5-install.exeOnce installed, fire up Win32DiskImager.
Click the little
blue folder icon, and point it at the Peppermint 7 ISO image you downloaded earlier.
Click the "
Write" button.
You'll see it progress.
You'll know it's finished when you see this:-
Click "
OK" and close Win32DiskImager.
That's it, you're done .. reboot to the LiveUSB stick.
Formatting the LiveUSB back to a regular mass storage USB stick (in Windows)As mentioned at the beginning of this tutorial, if you later wish to use Windows to format the LiveUSB stick back to a regular mass storage USB stick follow the instructions below.
Download and install
SDFormatter-v4-setup.exe from my dropbox:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31525164/SDFormatter-v4-setup.exeOnce installed, fire up
SDFormatterSelect the correct
Drive: (

example image above)
Give it a
Volume Label: (

example image above)
And click the "
Format" button.
You'll receive a warning:-
Click "
OK".
You'll receive a second warning:-
Click "
OK".
You'll know it's done when you see this screen:-
Click "
OK", and close SDFormatter.
That's it, your USB stick is now erased and formatted back to its full capacity.
