Log in loop? (Solved - no answer needed)
« on: June 15, 2014, 04:00:27 pm »
HI, I have recently installed Pep OS on my gateway m255 laptop and now have an issue with the logging in. I installed yesterday, and am now unable to log in to my account after rebooting. But I am able to log in to the Guest account (which has no pw). If there is anyone who can help, I'm all ears. Also I do not believe that has a full root partition, as i in stalled yesterday. I also read that it may be an xserver problem, if so is it fixable?

Thanks,
_tuter

When you're at the login screen, drop to a console by hitting Ctrl+Alt+F2

When in the console, log in using your username and password

Once logged on, run:
Code: [Select]
sudo service lightdm restart
what error was returned in the console ?

Thanks for your reply. But seeing as i had only installed yesterday, i made the decision to just re-install. I am very grateful for your help, but i no longer need it :D!!

Thanks again,
