Wifi randomly goes out?
« on: October 23, 2016, 06:42:20 pm »
Hi guys, i've been noticing a thing, every single distro i tried at least once would lose wifi completely after installation.
Peppermint and Lubuntu always randomly get disconnected from wifi, and stay like that until i restart pc)
Pretty much every distro, if i watch or download too much, would eventually do that, i can kinda understand that.
Solydx/Debian derivates for some reason lost wifi on session changing, so i would need to restart pc after changing DE, for example.

But what really concerns me is the random disconnect from wifi on Pos and Lubuntu (remember, no input, no huge downloads, no watching a lot of videos). Specially since it just shows the "small internet connection" icon, rather than the one with an X.

Is this a bug, or just i'm somehow "going over the limit" of the internet way too quickly?

This question doesn't belong in the GNU/Linux Discussion forum .. it's a support question, so I'm going to move it to the Support > Networking forum.

Then can you please post the output from:
Code: [Select]
inxi -Fz

Open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
sudo pluma /etc/modprobe.d/ath9k_htc.conf
When a BLANK file opens, add this single line
Code: [Select]
options ath9k_htc nohwcrypt=1
SAVE the file and exit pluma.

Now REBOOT

Once rebooted, test.

To UNDO
Code: [Select]
sudo rm -v /etc/modprobe.d/ath9k_htc.conf
and reboot.
