[SOLVED] How to change color of Highlighted area?
« on: October 01, 2016, 11:08:34 am »
Hi All,

Please, as in the thread title, I should like to change background color of the selected area.
It is blue at present time and I wish it green.
I have been able to manage for changing hints popup and more, not for highlighted areas as in the hereby attached pic.

To help us help you, ALL new requests for technical support should include basic system information.

If you haven't already done so, please open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run the following command:
Code: [Select]
inxi -Fz
then copy what was returned in the terminal and post it back here.

This was an automated response but please don't ignore it, providing this information now is highly likely to save time for both you and any prospective respondents and aid in the diagnosis of your problem  .. Thanks in advance :)

HI Bourbon

I'm not sure you can change that easily inside your current theme, but you could try a different theme
Menu>Preferences>Customise look & Feel and select a new theme under the Widgets tab if you can't find any themes to suit your needs you could also download additional themes from sites such as gnomelook.org

Good luck

Want Peppermix-Green (both gtk and icon themes) ?

Download this file
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31525164/Peppermix-Dark-7-Green.tar.gz
and unpack it in /usr/share/themes

and download this file
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31525164/Peppermix-7-Green.tar.gz
and unpack it in /usr/share/icons

Then just select the gtk and icon themes in the normal way.

@ Emegra: - Hi! - Thank you for your kind answer. I am happy with the dark theme already avalaible on Peppermint 7 and am using it, was concerned only for the blue strips. Anyway, if coming to my mind the wish of a new theme, I should like this one:

https://www.box-look.org/p/1152908/

Please, can you confirm me that I can install it? And... is a good idea to install  " XDG-URL " as suggested in the "Files" page (getting it clicking on "?").

@ Zebedeeboss: - Hi! - Thank you to you too. I am using "Faenza" icons now but the theme you are suggesting to me is nice too, maybe I switch to it

@ PCNetSpec: - HI! - Your answer solved the issue :) Thank you!
Got everything and settled down. I keep the Faenza icons at the moment but with Peppermix-Dark-7-Green I got the result which I was looking for.
I take opportunity to say "Thank you" once again because surfing in the Forum I found solution coming from you to get the recycle bin icon to the panel here:

Now, if not bothering too much, I hope to get confirmation about the Windows like theme:
https://www.box-look.org/p/1152908/
Am a bit confused with GTK LXDE XFCE OpenBox and don't know what I can install without spoiling something.

That's an openbox theme .. it won't work in Peppermint 7 which requires gtk themes.

Hi Bourbon, how's it going?  When you're posting web links, could you please remember to encapsulate them with the: Insert Hyperlink function.  This is located above the Wink  ;) emoticon in the forum editor.  I've done this for you  - many thanks  ;).
