[SOLVED] Install Keyboard Layout - Peppermint Seven
« on: October 01, 2016, 07:20:47 am »
Hi,

I would like to have the Keyboard Layout from Peppermint Six as I'm using few languages and would be so much easier if I have it there so I see what language I have chosen and could change languages with the combination of ALT+SHIFT .

Could you please give me instructions how to get it in Peppermint Seven?

Thank you.

To help us help you, ALL new requests for technical support should include basic system information.

If you haven't already done so, please open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run the following command:
Code: [Select]
inxi -Fz
then copy what was returned in the terminal and post it back here.

This was an automated response but please don't ignore it, providing this information now is highly likely to save time for both you and any prospective respondents and aid in the diagnosis of your problem  .. Thanks in advance :)

Thank you @PCNetSpec.

Everything works accept when I click with right button on Keyboard Layout icon and select "Keyboard Settings" nothing opens.

Everything still works correctly but is this supposed to be like that?

Thank you.

Yeah it's really a layout switcher applet for the Xfce desktop so some of the backend stuff is missing .. in this instance we're just using it purely for notification

Is it possible to get it the way it was in Peppermint Six?

Just asking as it will be much easier if in future I want to add other languages, change combination switcher as in Peppermint Six I was able to do this by just clicking on Keyboard Settings.

Thank you.

Not without switching back to the lxpanel .. and that would probably be a BIG job.
