Choppy graphics
« on: September 10, 2016, 05:35:04 pm »
Hi, all,

I've always had the problem of choppy graphics when using Peppermint on my system. Even when I had the graphics card proprietary drivers installed, it was still choppy.

The graphics appear choppy (it's like a slow interlacing jerk) when I scroll down a page; or when watching a movie and there is fast action. Basically, it is noticeable when the screen renders a lot of pixel changes.

Is this an easy problem to fix?

Since installing Pepp7 I haven't installed the graphics card drivers because doing so had no effect in Pepp6.

The system specs are in my signature. Thanks in advance.

It's a good thing you didn't try proprietary drivers, there are none for AMD graphics for Peppermint Seven.

As for your issue, I'm not sure.  It could be an available VRAM issue.  Onboard graphics use your system RAM, as opposed to having their own memory modules, like graphics cards do.
