It worked beutifully! Thank you very much. If I understand correctly, /usr/share/applications/WarThunder.desktop doesn't get synched with the desktop copy?

Any .desktop files in either
~/.local/share/applications
or
/usr/share/applications
will display in the menu (if formatted correctly)

but .desktop files don't "sync" with each other at all .. no matter where they are.
WARNING: You are logged into reality as 'root' .. logging in as 'insane' is the only safe option.
