Yeah but I'm betting you're one of these Americans with a V8 power driven thingy .. not some push along jobbie with small wheels that seem specifically designed to get stuck between every sod.

Besides which I'm British, so reserve the right to consider EVERY day either too hot or too cold to be outside .. it's a birth right.
If you're having the same weather as us in The Netherlands.  It's far too hot to run a new lawnmower with an engine that needs running in.  That's excuse no. 180 from the, Andy Mitchell, Practical Ways of Avoiding Doing Stuff.  There you go, problem solved >:D!!

Okay, that makes sense  :D

[EDIT]

I think I may drop lucky ... it's scheduled to be delivered late today, and rain is forecast for tomorrow (and probably the rest of the year, this is Britain after all).

No, standard push mower.  Granted, it's self propelled, but I think that they pretty much all are nowadays.  I just don't find it that bad of a chore.

LoL !  Same thing, here in the Sonoran Desert.  It's hot or cold, with nothing in between.

At least the grass you have won't burn your house down ...

It'd have to be bloody fast (as in petrol soaked) .. between ****ing downpours ::)

It's not that the weather is **really** too hot or cold .. it's that us Brits have about a 0.5 degree comfort window where we don't whinge like kids who've had their pocket money withheld.
(there's a reason the Aussies call us Whinging Poms)

When someone mentions the weather it's an immediate natural response to reply "too hot" or "too cold" .. You'll pretty much never hear a Brit say "great weather" without one of those following on its coat tails .. if you do, it MUST be in that 0.5 degree comfort window, and as soon as a breeze blows/drops.......

Interesting !  My comfort zone is 80F - 105F in the air, 88F-90F in water..

Ever check your body temp ?

I'm a cold-blooded desert rat.  My normal body temp is 97F give or take.

Most ppl are pushing 99F.

My theory is, the higher your body temp is, the less tolerant you are to ambient air temp changes ...

It's not just me it's pretty much every Brit.

I guess the weather is that crap (rainy) that we're just not used to the outdoors as we're never out in it much .. besides a quick dash to the car :)

So....

"Hey look it's not raining, let's go out it looks great" .. 5 minutes later .. "damn I'm burning up / freezing, gotta go back in before it kills me".

When outside it's either too hot or too cold depending on the speed/direction/gustiness of the breeze .. for it to be "just right" would need it to be the exact temperature of your house and with dead still air .. even then we'd probably moan about brightness or hayfever, or humidity, or.......

Moaning about the weather is a national sport .. as I said a British "birth right" ;)

[EDIT]

Basically we're cr*p with weather, because weather is cr*p with us.
