16fairfield, Mac makes a good point, you'll end up with a dead link to Chromium in your menu after its removal.
I'm assuming you've already downloaded Chrome and are using it as a replacement for Chromium. Then if you want, you can replace that dead Chromium entry in the menu with Chrome. You can replace the Chromium entry in gedit, with this entry:*

action=google-chrome
And then, look above in the box, click on Save, and then Exit.
As you can see, it's just a little bit of a tweak!
This will, at least, will give you a Chrome entry to replace that dead Chromium entry, and will be giving you the browser that you want to be using in the menu.
* Please note what is capitalized and what isn't. It makes a difference.
You may want to remove the menu entry completely as Mac has explained, or you may just want to replace the menu entry with Chrome.
The choice is yours!
