usb drive error "write protected" [SOLVED]
« on: June 30, 2016, 01:50:46 pm »
posting in the n00b group, because i feel silly asking this question, but for the life of me i can't seem to format this USB stick so i can easily transfer files as its intended to? i've formatted it via USB format tool, but it's still labeled as a Peppermint 7 install disk.... tried do this in both the 64 bit and 32 bit machines, still get the "write protected" error. This Cruzer 2gb has no physical switch. I even handed it over to the Windows10 machines... still get the "write protected" error when attempting to transfer files to it... I've right clicked and changed the properties to full access... still no go... shouldn't the USB format tool default to full access?

gaaah, little things drive me nuts  >:(
