OK so i accidentilly deleted the window buttons item then brought it back, but now it doesn't autoexpand to fill everything so how do i get that back to default?

Also how do I get whisker menu to put the categories on the left side and the actual programs on the right (IE flip it around to be more like how peppermint 6 worked.)

Appreciate the help.

Edit: Setting a seperator to expand and transparent beside windows buttons fixed that, and there was a setting in whisker menu to make it do what i want.

Hi Will. As to your second question, right-click the menu button and choose Properties > Behaviour. Tick the box that says "Position categories next to panel button".

Well that was easy, now how do I tidy up the task bar so it isn't all wonky?

What's the problem exactly, the height of the window buttons?

You could try this:

I might've cheated a solution and made a seperator that auto-expands, for all i know that's the actual solution. Basically I wanted the clock/notification area to stay in the corner like it's supposed to.

The separator should expand, so maybe you had deleted that too or changed its setting somehow.
