« on: June 26, 2016, 04:10:58 pm »
How to add log out button on desktop panel (manual for newbies).

Right mouse button click on free revenge of the panel.

Go to "Panel->Add New Items".

Click on "Launcher", then click "Add" button down.

It creates button in panel.

Right mouse click on newly created button. Go to "Properties". Add a new empty item.

Write in fields:
"Name" - "Logout".
"Command" - "peppermint-logout".

In field "Icon", choose your favorite icon for your button. I chosen "system-shutdown" icon. Then click button "Create".

Thats all! Have fun!

P.S. The same way, you can add other buttons.
Field "Command" <- "shutdown -r now"                     # for immediate reboot.
Field "Command" <- "poweroff"                                   # for immediate shutdown.
Field "Command" <- "lxsession switch-users"           # to switch users.
Field "Command" <- "xflock4"                                       # to lock screen.
Field "Command" <- "peppermint-settings-panel"   # for peppermint settings panel.
and etc...

How to add log out button on desktop panel (manual for newbies).

only difference for me was i needed to click "Create" not " Save"

In field "Icon", choose your favorite icon for your button. I chosen "system-shutdown" button. Then click button "Save".

Hi Royaleagle,

Try using the method described here (yes, it is for Peppermint Six but AFAIK it still applies to Peppermint 7 -- I do not use desktop launchers so maybe some one else here with more knowledge will confirm this method; but try it out, it will not destroy anything  :) ).

Regards,

If it's in the menu, it can be added to the desktop by simply right-clicking the menu entry and electing "Add to desktop"

If it's something that isn't in the menu, let us know what it is you want on the desktop and we'll explain how to do it :)

So the icon is not in the menu, it is palemoon, I was able to create a launcher for the bottom bar (don't know what is the correct name for it ...) but couldn't for my desktop.

I simply downloaded the .deb from here:

64bit
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/stevenpusser/xUbuntu_16.04/amd64/palemoon_26.3.3-1_amd64.deb

32bit
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/stevenpusser/xUbuntu_16.04/i386/palemoon_26.3.3-1_i386.deb

and double-clicked it to install

I hate adding repositories that have more than I want included.

I can't even uninstall palemoon now, the terminal doesn't find it  :-\

I followed your link and install it, I already had palemoon so I don't know how it will work but it seems to be all good.

Before the command of the launcher was "palemoon" now it is "palemoon %u"

If you know a lighter browser that has all the features and comptability to do pretty much everything I will be pleased.
