Can't really help with the "light browser" question .. I just use Firefox for everything

But if you want to know what the "%u" field code is all about, see here
https://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s06.html

the "%u" just tells the application that if something follows, such as
Code: [Select]
palemoon https://peppermintos.com
to treat it as a single URL

I do not know how old this post is, but now that it is the year 2018 and the older this post is just shows how lacking the people that developed this distro really care about there own distro because they still have not fixed this issue with it. It's rather sad to have to look up how do I log out of a desktop that is the default one the distros have installed for it. the user should not have to add a logout for the default deskop that comes with the distro. that is sad.

Erm, nothing needs "fixing", there is and has always been a logout button exactly where most people (including Windows and OS X users) would expect to find it .. in the main menu (whiskermenu).

We have no intention of adding a logout button to the panel when there's a perfectly working one in the whiskermenu. Not everyone (specially a netbook user) has unlimited space on their panel for unnecessarily duplicated functionality with zero benefit.

If you want a logout button on the panel as well as the one in the whiskermenu, feel free to add one (instructions above) .. but we won't force one on those that don't want one.

Your argument:-

a) Would only make sense if we provided no logout button at all .. which we have always done.

b) Seems to suggest you think everyone wants one on the panel .. I do not.

c) Wastes panel space through duplication .. there's a logout button prominently displayed with a mouseover tooltip in the whiskermenu (top right by default).

d) Doesn't take into consideration that like most things, if we added a panel logout button for no good reason other people would comment who don't like it.

If you were having problems locating the logout button, instead of coming at us with ill-informed accusations, you could have just asked and we'd have been happy to assist ;)
