check your internet connection err

Hi guys , thank you for your replies

when installing some apps from software manager like / peppermint-graphic-art ... or couple other things, it says "pls check your connection to the internet "  but i am connected ! should i use wired connection ?

It could be there's a problem with the software repositories, as opposed to anything on your end.  However, the Software Manager won't know what the cause is, it just knows it can't connect to the repository and will simply try to be "helpful" by suggesting the one thing you can control: the connection on your end.  The best advice if you know your connection is fine (it's always best to open a browser and load some pages to be sure) is to wait until later, when that repository may be back up.

Steam does the same crap when there's a problem on their end.  "Check your Internet connection."  So, I do.  I open Firefox, load some pages, and go, "Yep, it's working fine, now fix your end!"  ::)

If this is specific to the peppermint-graphic-arts-pack it may be that some package referred to in the control file is no longer available in the repos

If it happens with other packages as well, have you tried running:

sudo apt-get update
first ?

or possibly choosing a different server ?
