Hi Alex how's it going?  This is a very good question and it's one we've all been trying to figure out for years.  PCNetSpec just is  8)!!  Seriously though, PCNetSpec when he's not flying through the air, is Mark Greaves, our lead developer for Peppermint Six.  As you've probably already figured out, Peppermint OS is a relatively small distribution.  This is great for the user because you've direct contact with the development team and receive advice from the horse's mouth, so to speak.   Check out this link and you'll get to know the team: https://peppermintos.com/about/  ;).

He's the current lead programmer and a generally awesome dude.  Kendall Weaver and Shane Remington founded Peppermint, so they are its creators.  I believe Mark (PCNetSpec) took over programming duties a few versions back, when Kendall got married and some other good things happened in his life.

Oh okay, waiting for me eh ? .. erm yeah, I'm me (and I'm pretty sure I can say that with confidence) ;)

I'm now the team leader here at Peppermint .. no matter what the others would have you believe I'm just part of the TEAM, and I'm lucky as heck to have a great bunch of guys around me that make it a pleasure to be a member of .. as the others have pointed out, Shane Remington and Kendall Weaver were the co-founders of Peppermint LLC (back in 2010), I arrived here when I discovered Peppermint Two for my netbook and (to some peoples dismay) never left, ending up taking over as the development team lead after Peppermint 5 when Kendall stepped down because of other commitments (though he still contributes 'behind the scenes' when he can).

Not much more I can say really, other than maybe "Hiya Alex, pleased to meet you" :)

I'm happy to answer any other questions you may have though ? .. well, within reason  ;D

PCNetSpec AKA "Mark Greaves" AKA "Superman" AKA "Sir Linux-a-lot" AKA "Linux Support Deity" AKA "DarthLukan's Taskmaster" is a TITAN.

That is all.

Saw this word today at Dictionary.com and thought of PCNetSpec.  But really, how is it possible to describe the indescribable, or explain the inexplicable, multifaceted, phantasmagoric, PCNetSpec?  It can not be done!  ;)

crackerjack

noun

A person or thing that is remarkable, wonderful, superior, etc : Signorelli is a crackerjack

[late 1880s+; origin uncertain; perhaps a fanciful extension of cracker in the mid-19th-century British sense ''something approaching perfection,'' which is also reflected in terms like crack shot, crack troops, etc, and based on an echoic expression of speed; hence also cracking; the term is reinforced in the US by late 19th-century trademark Cracker Jack for a popcorn and peanut confection]

This topic is closed, but "crackerjack" it's a good definition.  :)

It's only closed if an administrator (such as PCNetSpec) or super moderator closes it.  Otherwise, it's still open and people can post replies.

For clarity concerning the word "Crackerjack" --since the meaning of words morph all of the time:  I'm going with the British sense of meaning here --which means "something (or someone) approaching perfection."

To paraphrase a late Chinese military leader/political philosopher, "Improved practice makes improved theory, and improved theory makes improved practice.  And although we may never have perfect practice or perfect theory, we can have practice and theory that is good enough."

From everything I can see, Peppermint forum more than exceeds what is "good enough".  This forum is extraordinary.  And I credit PCNetSpec for setting much of the tone and feel of our forum to his efforts.  I can't imagine, nor have I found, a better place to spend my time online than right here in Peppermint forum.  ;)
