cleaning up my reboot/start after testing TLP [reSOLVED]
« on: April 17, 2016, 04:12:03 pm »
a few weeks back I thought I'd test out a different systems monitor besides GKrellM ... TLP seemed interesting, but my brain seems to have had reverted to n00b mode at that time... I've since deleted and purged:

Code: [Select]
sudo apt remove tlp tlp-rdw
Code: [Select]
sudo add-apt-repository remove ppa:linrunner/tlp
Code: [Select]
sudo apt purge tlp tlp-rdw
Code: [Select]
sudo apt autoremove
but now have my boot/reboot process slowed down by several errors... [which I'll need to reboot/pause/write down here in a bit... ]

You might find the errors in the boot log
/var/log/boot.log
or syslog
/var/log/syslog
or dmesg
/var/log/dmesg

no luck with any key combos on the laptop create a pause...

so here are the bits I've captured...
Code: [Select]
libkmod: ERROR .../libkmod/libkmod config.c
... alsa-base.conf ... ... base.conf line .... ignoring bad line     .... line 44.... etc modprobe

don't need to spend lots of time with it as it will all get overwritten when p7 lands...  but if its rings anybody's bells, I'd appreciate it... EDITI've tracked down the lines in a couple of the files referenced and commented them out... seem to have only flipped the order of the error messages...

Do you get this error if you boot an earlier kernel ?
