Latest kernel breaks system
« on: April 05, 2016, 08:30:42 am »
Today the update system performed  a kernel update.

With the new kernel everything looks normal up to the login screen. After entering my password the system continues booting, but freezes a few seconds later -- about the time my wallpaper shows up. This is my production system, no time to fiddle around, so I booted the old kernel and purged the new one. I'll do the same update later on my netbook to see what happens.

Yeah, I think it might be a fluke. Normally I would try to find out why, but that is a luxury I don't have atm. Loads of editorial work in the pipeline.
