(SOLVED) White bar at top of Dell 6420 (SOLVED)

Peppermint 6

Hello

I was changing backgrounds on my dell 6420 and now there is a white bar taking up about 1/4" of the screen at the top of the display.  I can't move anything into it, when I maximize an application I can't get it to occupy the space it into it.  Any ideas what to do to get the space back? The dell had an intel video card on it.

The white bar is not there when I come to my login screen, but appears after I log in.

SO what I am saying is my windows do not go clear to the screen border on top.  Did I mee up something in the appearance (Maybe in the Peppermint control center?  This is a dual boot computer and the other OS Linux Mint works fine.

Thanks

SDGEngineer

Thank you that fixed it!

You may have accidentally added a second panel to your desktop.  When you do that, it appears at the top of the screen and is white.  Right-click on the white area and see if "Delete this panel" appears on the menu.  If so, choose that.  You'll get a little confirmation dialog and, once you hit "OK," it will go away, if that is indeed what it is.
