run:
Code: [Select]
sudo dpkg --configure -a

when prompted for the ttf-mscorefonts-installer  EULA, use the "Tab" key to highlight the OK and hit enter .. I think you have to do this twice.

If it doesn't prompt you for the EULA let me know.

ran "sudo dpkg --configure -a".   Appears to have worked.  It did **not**  prompt me for the EULA.  Here is the output:

gunter@gunter-AO532h ~ $ sudo dpkg --configure -a

ran "sudo apt-get remove --purge flashplugin-installer" - not sure if that worked.  Here is the output:

What next?   Should I run"sudo apt-get install --reinstall flashplugin-installer"?

run:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install --reinstall ttf-mscorefonts-installer flashplugin-installer ubuntu-restricted-extras lubuntu-restricted-extras

and remember what I said about using the tab key for the EULA ;)

I ran "sudo apt-get install --reinstall ttf-mscorefonts-installer flashplugin-installer ubuntu-restricted-extras lubuntu-restricted-extras".

It seems to have worked.  I came across the EULA (didn't realize what that acronym was last time).  I used the "tab" to accept the EULA.  This is the output:

gunter@gunter-AO532h ~ $ sudo apt-get install --reinstall ttf-mscorefonts-installer flashplugin-installer ubuntu-restricted-extras lubuntu-restricted-extras

Update:  I have been testing Chromium and there seems to be an intermittent problem.  It works flawlessly.  I reboot several times and test after each reboot - it continues to work well.  Then it starts crashing.  I reboot and then it seems to work fine again.

Any suggestions?  Leave it as is?  Or try and get rid of the Gremlin?

Have you run a full system update ?

Yes - prior to all the changes you suggested.  But not since those changes.  I have used Chromium for a couple of hours today and only 2 or 3 crashes.... So not too bad.

Still not right though  :-\

Have you tried Chrome ? .. if only to rule Chromium itself in/out as the culprit.

Yes, when I was running Peppermint 3 (roughly 1 year ago) - still had problems

No, with Peppermint 4.  I installed Peppermint 4, had a couple of crashes and then posted in this forum.  Today after 4 hours, only had 2-3 crashes.  Not too bad.  As long as it doesn't get worse, I can live with that....

Okey dokey .. if it gets any worse, try Chrome in Peppermint 4 and let us know how it goes.
