Adobe has urged users to patch their Windows, OS X and Linux editions of Flash Player to address 23 security vulnerabilities, including one that is actively being targeted in the wild.

Flash Player for Linux 11.2.202.569 and earlier and Adobe AIR Desktop Runtime and AIR SDK 20.0.0.260 as well as AIR for Android 20.0.0.233 and earlier should also be updated if possible. You can check your installed version here.

Update came through (for this morning), so run:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update
then
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer
then
Code: [Select]
sudo update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --install
(though I don't know if pepperflash needs updaing, it certainly can't hurt)

Realistically this only applies to Firefox users .. until/unless Google release a version of Chrome with an updated pepperflash .. THEN people will want to run that last command, even if they only use Chromium.

Firefox users (after running the above commands should run:
Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep flashplugin-installer
which should report they're using version 11.2.202.577 or greater .. any version lower is at risk.

Chromium users can run:
Code: [Select]
sudo update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --status
which CURRENTLY should return
Code: [Select]
Flash Player version installed on this system  : 20.0.0.306
Flash Player version available on upstream site: 20.0.0.306
but as I said, I don't know if/when Google will release an update .. or even if one if necessary to pepperflash as it's sandboxed in the first place.

Flash who?  Flash Gordon?  Flash Thompson?  The Flash?  :P

Seriously, stop running that horrid plugin.  It's mostly unnecessary and a gigantic security risk.
