Hi Brotherred,

OK, and I apologize for coming across in a rather unfriendly manner -- it was just getting too difficult for me to follow your problem.  ???

It works. I didn't get any error. This I like :-)

Edited: But now it will not Hibernate. I turned off the Wi-Fi via the hardware switch and it still won't hibernate. To be clear I tried hibernate just now without and now with the hardware switch.

Okay now I'm confused .. what works ?

the commands I gave in my last posting should NOT inhibit hibernate  :-\
(they just unload the driver, then reload the driver)

Maybe we need to unload all 3 drivers .. then reload them.

Let me know if it was the commands from my last posting that caused wireless to come back to life, but inhibited hibernate.

You are (always it seems) correct, my friend. I my laptop is now after suspend and having entered that last code from you.. With Wifi restored but hibernate inhibited.

I tend to get a lot of electro magnetic interference from my laptop and it gets better when I close the lid but hibernate is definitely inhibited.

Still lost  :-\

a) do those commands cause wifi to come back to life ?

b) do they also cause hibernate to stop working ?

Ok here it is. I am not sure either how this came about. If you get a chance to point it out, please explain it to me. I keep wondering if I caused it.

No sorry, that's unsuccessful.

Java gets me going in the morning. Tux doing Java makes him FAT.

Oh and I know nothing of the Bluetooth. I saw for the first time in that code when I first posted it.

Another issue is that I always tether my phone for Internet. Anyway since your suggested code, the connection seems very easy to drop. To drop the connection and not get it back. But a restart seems to always establish the connection. I have no clue why.

Are you able to hibernate a second time if you run:
Code: [Select]
sudo modprobe -r rt2500pcibefore going into hibernate

I am getting a little lost here sorry. On fresh reboot hibernate and Wifi both work ok. So I need to hibernate, so I will then have need of your previously suggested code.

Quote
does:
Code:
Code: [Select]
sudo rmmod rt2500pci

then
Code:
Code: [Select]
sudo modprobe rt2500pci

OK I believe that I follow it all OK now, and posted it that way.

So to answer your question. No I can not Hibernate. This last bit of code takes down the Wifi but I can't Hibernate.

I also can't re-enable WiFi. So a restart was required.
