Okay, to clean up... run this uber long command:

That was, as you said an UBER LONG command, done  :D

There was NO output from either code, shown below:

Okay, all cleaned up .. I'll keep looking for a possible solution and if I come up with anything I'll post here, but I probably wouldn't advise holding your breath ;)

Yep, can't these days, but was a fish as youngster, 3 to 4 minutes under water.  :D

I've had a good look around Intel and logitech forums, it seems wireless lag/freeze is a common issue with no real solution.  :-\

Well "The old Man" happyish now, that I managed to find him a wired keyboard with a similar palm rest to the wireless keyboard. Plus the scanner works, job done.  ;)
