OK, open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get remove --purge mate-power-manager mate-power-manager-common
then
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install xfce4-power-manager
then close the terminal

Now go to

menu > Preferences > Default Applications for LXSession > core applications (tab)

and change

Power Manager: mate-power-manager

to

Power Manager: xfce4-power-manager

then close the "LXSession Configuration" dialog

Now log off/on (or reboot)

Once logged back on, right-click the power manager tray icon (by the clock), and select "About" .. it should tell you that you're using the xfce4-power-manager.

Thanks a lot, PCNetSpec!
I`ll give it a try 2morrow.
Will report back surely.
Goodnight!

Added: DID IT.
Now after AC adapter is plugged to comp display doesn`t turn black, and I can see the information about charging etc. Looks pretty stable for now. Let`s see further.

Hi Kulbanski,

Read all of the instructions given to you by darthlukan in this thread. Then follow his instructions relating to the power manager (i.e. unchecking the option "Dim display when idle"). Then tell us if this worked.

I shall mark the topic for sure! I never forget about that.
Now I`m gonna reinstall PPM from scratch and see once again what about wi-fi stability and power manager`s change.
In the case of the same results as now, I`ll consider the problem(s) solved and will close the topic.  :)

Summing up after fresh installation:

Replacing mate-power-manager with xfce4-power-manager WAS THE SALVATION for the currrent machine as well as PCNetSpec`s ADVICE `bout unstable wi-fi (see above).
Many thanks goes to all the community and especially to PCNetSpec! U-da-man, PC! 8)
