Kernel-432-release
« on: December 12, 2015, 01:51:42 am »
http://www.ubuntumaniac.com/2015/12/kernel-432-release-install-on-ubuntu.html

It would appear this is available for 14.04 LTS.  Is there any reason why this cannot be used on Peppermint 6?

If you're using proprietary graphics drivers you  need to remove them .. reboot .. install the new kernel .. reboot .. then reinstall the graphics drivers (as they need to be recompiled against the new kernel) .. then reboot.

and even then there's no guarantee they'll work.

Hi zebedeeboss,

Sorry, but I was not aware that you are/were using proprietary graphics drivers (since I do not use any, I have no trouble with Kernel 4.3.2).

However, if you still have problems (even after following PCNetSpec's method) then you might want to read this posting on Softpedia.com (paying close attention to the last sentence:

Quote
... the good news is that this kernel lets you install the latest Nvidia video drivers!

Please note that the compiled Kernel they describe -- which has been compiled by the GNU/Linux developer Mr. Arne Exton -- is only for a 64-bit OS).

I hope that this helps.
