Black and Red Bugatti Veyron pepp theme
« on: November 25, 2015, 05:18:54 pm »
Hey guys, so I got board and had a little more fun.

Bugatti veyron wallpaper:
http://img.wallpapergang.com/325processed/bugatti%20veyron%20Red%20and%20Black%20sport%20wallpapers.jpg

Theme:
Sticking with the Peppermix-Dark theme, haven't found anything I liked better really.

Icons:
Numix icon theme from Noobslab: http://www.noobslab.com/2014/04/install-numix-icon-packs-in-ubuntulinux.html

Conky:
I'm using Conky-lua 2011 next generation/Ubuntu conky from the Conky Manger. I modified the icon in the Ubuntu version of the Conky by placing the official peppermint icon.png inside the following folder: /home/mike/.conky/Conky-lua 2011 next generation/Ubuntu. Next, I opened the concyrc file located in that same folder, scrolled down to the text that read
${image ./logo.png -p 165,10 -s 35x35}

And changed that line to read
${image ./logo_candy.png -p 165,10 -s 35x35}

I then refreshed the conky to replace the Ununtu logo with the peppermint one and there you have it. Enjoy

Great job, is there a way that we could package a few of these great looking themes to distribute with Peppermint? Like on the ISO?

Very nice, I love the orange/black combo!
The Pepprmint-logo in conky looks very good!  :)

Not really .. Wallpapers might be copyrighted (even where the site you get them from doesn't mention it .. so unless we can get permission directly from the author.....), and conky is notoriously difficult to keep the screen (and component) position consistent across different screen sizes and resolutions.

That's why this forum section exists .. so people can post screenshots and links to the components to reproduce the overall look .. you can then tweak it to your system.

A big "thanks" to miker07 and everyone else that takes time to share the details on how to reproduce the look :)
