Solar System Wallpaper
« on: November 23, 2015, 05:20:29 am »
Hi everyone, how's it going?  Over the weekend I found some absolutely stunning images of: The Sun, The Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Europa and Saturn.  They've been edited for the desktop, phone and tablet.  They also come with and without text.  Check out the samples below.

With very little effort, you're very quickly able to make your desktop look like this:

The wallpapers are found at: https://plus.google.com/+VinothRagunathan/posts/DXQWjQMPLxM.  The image folders can be downloaded straight to your Google Drive account or locally to your computer.

A developer's version of Plank has been installed via a ppa: https://launchpad.net/~ricotz/+archive/ubuntu/docky.
Code: [Select]
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/docky
Code: [Select]
apt update && apt install plank
Theme used is Invisible and Plank has been set to Intellihide

Basic Conky installed from Noobslab: http://www.noobslab.com/2013/01/install-basic-conky-in-ubuntulinux.html

Icon theme is Sardi Mono.  Download the whole Sardi Icons Suite from: https://github.com/erikdubois/Sardi.  The zip file is very large and takes a long time to unzip.  Copy the contents to either: /usr/share/icons or ~/.icons.  The icons will now be accessible from: menu > Preferences > Customize Look and Feel > Icon Theme.

I hope you find this useful.  I think if nothing else, they're great to have as library images for future use - have fun  ;),

Very nice, thanks for sharing.
The "Sun" looks very good with my "Red Theme".  8)
