How do I change the shortcut Alt + left mouse click?
« on: November 09, 2015, 10:55:14 pm »
I would like to change this short cut.  I looked in the control center but only saw Alt + F7  to start move.  I looked online  and  and tried several walkthroughs with dconf and compizconfig but none of them work.  I gave up, but his forum is my last  chance.  Thanks for the help  :-\

To be more specific, maybe use another key, like shift + left, middle or right mouse button to move window around.   The reason I wanted to change is because it's interfering with another program function.  The program has key-mapping as well but it's also not as easy, I might have to do some programming, which I'm not good at.

Open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
xfwm4-tweaks-settings
in the resulting "Window Manager Tweaks" utility, choose the "Accessibility" tab

Now change:-

Key used to grab and move windows: None
or
Key used to grab and move windows: Shift

(or whatever other key you want from the drop list)

Remember if you set NONE, you can still use Alt+F7 to initiate a window move.

Hi thehulkk,

Why the "bump"? You received a prompt reply with a suggested action for you to take. So:

1. Did you follow the advice?

2. If so, what was the result?
