Hi drum, when posting your system details.  It's more useful to use the output from:
Code: [Select]
inxi -F
TipLinux is case sensitive.  To reduce the possibility of typographical errors, please click on the Code: [Select] function above the command, to highlight the contents. Click on the centre mouse button/wheel while the mouse cursor is in the terminal window to paste the contents  ;).
Backup! Backup! Backup! If you're missing any of these -  you ain't Backed Up!
For my system info please L/click HERE.

I know what you mean.  I have a similar setup on another computer with an old Celeron Dual Core (from 2009/2010) and the same amount of RAM and Intel Ingegrated graphics and Peppermint flies on it.

Wanna see it really fly .. get an SSD for it.

One of the PC's I tested the builds for Peppermint 6 had a VERY similar spec (below), I've since swapped out the HDD for an SSD and it now runs like the wind.
(and I aint gotta worry about moving it whilst running .. IMHO laptops and HDD's just don't mix .. in fact if it were up to me I'd make it illegal to label something "mobile" if it contained an HDD)
