removing pixlr and menu entry [SOLVED]
« on: September 30, 2015, 01:42:48 pm »
decided i don't want to keep using the web based pixlr and attempted to remove the desktop entries per the advice in an old forums thread:

Quote
If you uninstall programs or delete the .desktop files that go there, the sub menus go away. If you want to add menu entries for custom apps you installed or if you want to link to something, you have to create a .dekstop file in /home/yourname/.local/share/applications. If you're not sure how a .desktop file should be formatted, you can always get examples in /usr/share/applications

but my sleepy fat fingers caused me to close the applications folder after having attempted a rename of one of the files instead of just deleting them. so now i have a menu entry for .desktop that doesn't appear in the applications folder.... ... ...

Ice SSB's should really be removed via the Ice application ;)

Manual deletion of .desktop files is a last resort.
