Acer Aspire One 532h
« on: September 17, 2015, 12:24:16 pm »
Sound and Wifi works off the bat. the only thing I noticed is that not all the function keys work.  example Fn+F8 = mute for me.  It mutes the sound but will not unmute.  But those are really minor things

Details of the netbook is below. thanks PM team

Try this .. run:
Code: [Select]
sudo gedit /etc/asound.conf
when a BLANK file opens, make it read
Code: [Select]
pcm.pulse {
    type pulse
}
ctl.pulse {
    type pulse
}
pcm.!default {
    type pulse
}
ctl.!default {
    type pulse
}
SAVE the file and exit gedit

log off/on (or reboot)

test your mute key now toggles mute/unmute

BTW, This fix also worked on my Asus laptop (U50F) that I posted before.

Yeah, it works on my Samsung laptop too :)

It would be interesting to know if it works for everyone .. including if there  are any adverse effects for people that aren't having problems in the first place (?)
