peppermint 6 installation crash EeePC 701
posted also as a bug report

Asus EeePC 701
1 GB RAM
4 GB SSD
900 MHz cpu

The EeePC boots to the peppermint menu but...
If I choose any item it freezes.
Same happens with a CD.

I have tried 2 usb sticks, same.
I have booted other computers from either usb stick.

I use TAB to edit the options and removed quiet and splash.
Then! I saw the message about using 'forcepae'.
Ah ha! The info about peppermint said i386, I assumed non-PAE.
I tried forcepae and then the EeePC boots to the peppermint desktop.
peppermint functions great from the usb stick.

Please mention 'forcepae' on the install page.

The installation gets to:

'checking for packages to install'

and then crashes, with a dialog:

you will be taken to an 'integrated bug report tool' Which never happens,
I am returned to the desktop and peppermint is still functional.

Any thoughts?

Hello bee, and welcome to the forum :)

did you choose the extra codec packages and updates during the install ? .. and did you have an active internet connection ?

have you tried it without ?

is this the original Peppermint 6 or the respin ?
