confused with respine 64bit vs standard 64bit on P6 (SOLVED)
« on: September 07, 2015, 08:58:21 pm »
I have been happily using 64bit of P6 for one month with win7 dual boot.  I see now there is a "respin" of 64bit.

if I update the "regular" 64bit, do I end up with "respin" or do I have to d/l and install separately?

thanks

"there is no need for current Peppermint 6 users to switch to the respin unless you want UEFI support."

since I don't understand UEFI support (replaces ?bios), I will keep my setup.

Yes UEFI replaced the traditional BIOS on newer PC's

Unless your PC has a UEFI (BIOS) and you're having problems installing Peppermint (particularly alongside Windows 8/8.1/10) you don't need UEFI support .. in fact you'd ntice no difference.

UEFI support is ONLY for people with a UEFI (BIOS) who are having problems installing Peppermint.
