Replacing xfwm with compton? (Solved)
« on: July 21, 2015, 03:09:08 pm »
I'm considering switching from Ubuntu to Peppermint. I have issues with video (screen tearing) that are only solved by using a compositing window manager such as Compiz or Mutter (the compositing option in Marco doesn't work well enough). I see that some people with this issue have gotten good results in Debian XFCE by switching the window manager to Compton. Is it simple enough to do this in Peppermint? What will it break?

Disable desktop effects in Peppermint Control Center, then compton shouldn't break anything.
