What happens if you try to run it from the command line:
Code: [Select]
/opt/extras.ubuntu.com/my-weather-indicator/bin/my-weather-indicator
?

Hi penrose1950, according to the OMG Ubuntu website, this weather app is written for Ubuntu's Unity panel.  I doubt it will work with LXDE: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2014/10/install-weather-indicator-ubuntu-14-10.

Sorry Andy .. it's working fine on my Peppermint 6 (32bit) Panel ;)
(it's a system tray icon so theoretically should be panel agnostic)

Hi penrose1950, I see that the output you returned is very long.  In future, could you please encapsulate long outputs with the Sp Spoiler function.  This is located in the forum editor, just above the crying  :'( emoticon.  It makes it much easier for people to read and keeps things neat and tidy.  This time, I've done this for you.  Thanks in advance ;).

Can you post the output from:
Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep python-gi-cairo
and if there is NO output, try running:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install python-gi-cairo
then see if my-weather-indicator works.

penrose .. check back in a day or two, I'm currently not at a 64bit machine and this seems to be a 64bit problem

Though you could try:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install --reinstall python-gi-cairo
and see if that helps ?

OK, I've tried this multiple times now on Peppermint 6 64bit too .. and it "just works" every time, on either architecture.

So let's remove my-weather-indicator and reinstall it .. open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get remove --purge my-weather-indicator
then
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get clean
then
Code: [Select]
cd ~/Desktop
then
Code: [Select]
wget https://launchpad.net/~atareao/+archive/ubuntu/atareao/+files/my-weather-indicator_0.6.9-0extras14.04.2_all.deb
then
Code: [Select]
sudo dpkg -i my-weather-indicator_0.6.9-0extras14.04.2_all.deb
now what happens if you run:
Code: [Select]
my-weather-indicator
?

If you still get errors, please post them back here .. along with the output from:
Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep python-dateutil
and
Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep python-lxml
and
Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep python3-tz
