You don't install CloneZilla to your machine.  You install it to a CD/DVD or USB drive.  CloneZilla is a separate Debian based utility operating system.  To use it or any disk imaging software.  You need an external target to store the image.  This can be an external hard drive or a server.  I use a 500 GB external hard drive.  Since your machine's hard drive is 80 GB, you can use a smaller external hard drive.

Has the Peppermint Six image finished downloading?  The tools needed to use CloneZilla are the writable/re-writable CD/DVD or the smallest thumb drive you can find.  This is where your CloneZilla disk imaging software is going to run from.  Just like a Live version of Peppermint would before you install it.  Your target drive is where the image of your machine's hard drive is going to be compressed and stored.  Your hard drive is 80 GB.  You are going to need a storage device of at least 5O GB to be safe.

While you're waiting, why not use Brasero to make a CloneZilla Live CD/DVD.  You have the CloneZilla ISO.  After it's made and as long as there are no other processes going on.  Like downloading Peppermint Six.  You can test to see if CloneZilla boots up.  It's the identical process to making a Live Peppermint CD/DVD.  Only this time you are going to use the CloneZilla ISO.

Where ever you downloaded it to.  The default setting is your Download folder.

so i made the live disk and it took for ever for the loader to fill up and than once it did i waited an extra 20 minutes   and nothing
happened should it take that long for it to load up just to 'test drive' the OS?

No downloading CloneZilla to your system is useless.  That's only useful if you are running a network of computers.  Remove CloneZilla from your system.  It's only taking up valuable space.
Code: [Select]
apt remove --purge clonezilla
You need to download the ISO independently from the CloneZilla website: http://clonezilla.org/downloads/download.php?branch=stable.  The machine you are using is a dual core 32 bit machine.  You therefore need to select the CPU architecture=i686-pae, file type=ISO, then Download.  Select your Downloads folder as the target.   When it has finished downloading, use Brasero to burn the ISO to a CD/DVD  ;).
