Trying to change printer settings
« on: April 01, 2015, 11:52:36 pm »
Hi everyone,

I'm trying to change my printer options (I have a Brother HL-3170CDS) that I'm connected to over wifi. If I change any setting (for example Printer Options>Two Sided Printing from 'Off' to 'long edge binding' than hit apply the option resets to the 'off' setting. I have tried http://localhost:631 then going to administration>manage printers>HL3170CDW>set default options. When I try to enable long edge binding two sided printing there and click 'set default options' I get a popup asking me for a user name and password. I have read my regular username and password I use to login with should work but it doesnt.

Any ideas how I can change my printer settings? Thanks!

Can you post the output from running this command in a terminal:
Code: [Select]
