Pre-install recommended applets
« on: March 04, 2015, 02:22:01 pm »
I live in Palmer Alaska.
I've used Linux steadily since 2000, also use OS X. Ubuntu has been my primary linux since 2007.
I've got a number of orphaned netbooks here which have lubuntu or xubuntu installed.
I'm looking forward to giving peppermint a whirl.

I've used glipper as a clipboard manager in the past, but would welcome an alternative recommendation with minimal dependencies.
Any other recommendations are welcome. I presume a network manager, and battery level indicator will be included in the initial install.

BTW : This forum  is having a hard time loading the anti-spam resources. Sometimes the resources are absent,
which prohibits the user from posting, and otherwise (of late), they are loading very, very slowly.

thank you

Hi Tim, and welcome to the forum.

I use Clipit (a fork of the now dead Parcellite clipboard manager) ;)
(available in the repos)

The anti spam measure is for first post approval only .. you shouldn't see it again ;)
(thanks for the heads up though .. I'll look into it)

They sure will .. network-manager and xfce4-power-manager respectively :)
